Duo Magnus & Irina

clarinet and accordion

“With brilliant artistry and natural stage presence, outstanding ensemble playing, and technical brilliance, the musicians invite the listener into a unique sound world.”
— Swedish Chamber Music Association

Magnus and Irina first met during their master’s studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Their highly unusual combination of clarinet and accordion has allowed them to carve out a unique and personal repertoire. Passionate about expanding the possibilities of their instruments, they collaborate with contemporary composers and effortlessly blend different musical styles.

Their programs span from impressionism to modern art music, infused with elements of jazz, Slavic folk music, and klezmer. In 2017, they won first prize in Ung & Lovande, one of Sweden’s most prestigious chamber music competitions. Since then, they have toured extensively across the country, performing in concert series organized by Länsmusiken Stockholm, Musik i Syd, Västmanlandsmusiken, Estrad Norr, and more.

In the hands of Magnus and Irina, magical miracles happen - the interaction was out of this world!
